The CPA has successfully helped to resolve a human rights complaint for a member with a medical condition. She had been fighting this for two and a half years. The Service was had made arguments based upon information which the member believed was in error, and the lack of a resolution was causing the member prolonged angst and frustration.
In order to resolve this situation, CPA stopped negotiating and filed a grievance under the Human Rights legislation alleging her human rights were violated. Two weeks later, the Service has now begun working to get her into the position that she wanted to work in, which is on the street. She had been fighting this for two and a half years.
With the assistance of the CPA, the situation is being moved forward, and this member is hugely relieved and optimistic that she will soon be allowed to contribute in a meaningful way.
